Strokes n’ Slides Basic
(4 to 5 years) this is the happening place! This class is a core
development class. Here we work on the essentials of stroke, blowing
bubbles, kicking correctly, core muscle development (needed for
speed) and basic strokes freestyle ( big circle arms) , streamline
(shark arms) and rotation (starfish). Students must be proficient in
these areas before moving on to intermediate stroke.
Strokes n’ Slides Intermediate I
(5 to 6 years) Starting to come together! This class builds
on the skills learned in the basic stroke class. Swimmers
coordination skills are improving and they are now able to move
smoothly through the water. Here we work on making the freestyle and
streamline more proficient and add kicking on the back and begin
doing drills to build stamina and endurance.
Strokes n’ Slides Intermediate II
(6 to 7 years) Lookin’ Good!
We are still building on the basics. This class starts expanding the
backstroke to use the arms and begins to implement rhythmic
breathing, the basics of Butterfly (the dolphin) and the basics of
Breaststroke. Students must be proficient in Streamline, Freestyle
and Backstroke before moving to Advanced Stroke.
Strokes n’ Slides Advanced
(6 to 12 years) Where it all makes sense! This class continues to
build the students stamina and endurance by doing drills using the
Streamline, Freestyle and Backstroke techniques. Student will
continue to work on Butterfly and Breaststroke and becoming
proficient in rhythmic breathing.
